"I realised that actually being with you is a lot like going home ... I'm surrounded by this wonderful sense of peace and happiness, because in accepting me you've made me the best version of myself." –Peony
Briefly going through my portfolio this morning, I realised that I hadn't yet shared this wedding with you on my blog. I'm not sure how I missed sharing this with you sooner!
Peony and Richard were married in the Maldives in November 2014. Getting to learn about their romance left me misty-eyed and with my own butterflies: from secret office encounters, to realising it might be the real thing, to celebrating their commitment with closest friends and family at beautifully secluded COMO Maalfushi. Their wedding was both stunningly extravagant yet incredibly pure. Their love has this... ineffable energy that seems to gentle the world around them.
So, in early 2015, when I received a message from Lelian (planner extraordinaire and owner of The Wedding Atelier) that their wedding had not only made it into Martha Stewart Weddings upcoming Spring Special 2015 Issue as the publication's first printed Asian destination feature, but had also made the cover! I was ecstatic and lost for words, feeling so proud and fulfilled. I couldn't have been more honoured to have been a part of this special couple's celebration.
A huge thank you to you, Lel! And to Peony and Richard, for your warmth, your trust, and most of all – your love for each other!
